Xilan Wolf
"Hooowwwlllss's it going, everyone?" My name is Xilan Wolf. You might know me as that guy from YouTube who does covers and Q&A, or the guy on Twitter who posts random comments and living a normal life. If you guys don’t know, I am a half wolf songwriter/musician. Basically, I write songs for myself to sing. I don’t sell rights, I keep them for myself. Anyway, you’re probably curious about who I am and the things I like. Then you’re in luck, visit my channel and watch my Q&A videos, where people ask me questions about myself and interesting that I never knew I could get. That way, I answer them in the most entertaining way I could do. More details below.

How I got into music:
When I was 2 years old, I started to sing like crazy. Being part of a big wolf pack means a lot of parties that involve loud music. Sure, at first I wouldn't listen, but in the end, I did. The beats, the instruments, the vocals, I fell in love with everything. I could feel every single type of emotion inside of me. Music became a part of my life. Growing up at first I would listen to 80’s songs from bands like Journey and Bon Jovi, or a lot of Michael Jackson songs. Let’s just say I’m a random listener. What I mean is that I listen to music, depending on what I like. For example, I would hear a song from a specific artist. People would be like “Why do you like this song?” and I answer “Because it’s cool and I love it”. I’m not that type of person who judges the songs you like or the genre of music you listen to. I like musicals in general and I would have almost all of the songs on my phones and hear them every day. Literally, having a song in my head changes my point of view, as in I would look things differently. Not many people knew that about me growing up. What can I say? I was the shy kid in school, even though some people said I was anti-social. Thats not the point now. My love for music expresses who I am. From it, I learned how to play guitar and piano. I do have an harmonica nearby but that’s for another time. Music is a part of me and it’ll always be, forever.
How I got into songwriting:
Songwriting is one of the best skills I have. You could say it’s my favorite hobby. It all started when a couple of my relatives formed a band together. They would do rehearsals at my house and sing covers of their favorite artists. One time, I went downstairs and heard a song I never heard before (even though most of them I didn't know because of the artists/band). When I asked them what song it was, they plain out told me that they wrote it. I had not idea what to say and as the child who follows the adult’s footsteps, I grabbed a notebook and began to write. Writing a song for the first time was child’s play. I wasn't taking things serious because I was trying to be like one of the “cool kids”. But then one day, I got inspired and I wrote my first official song. I was very surprised at what I did, because I thought I didn't have the skill to do it. Everything changed for me as soon as I continued to write more songs for myself. Some of them describe my life and others are for entertaining. That’s what I like about songwriting, when it can be almost about everything. I wrote a lot of songs enough to make a few albums. I then realized that I am destined to become a songwriter. I don’t wanna sell my songs to artists because I once said “No artist could understand what I’ve been through”. Meaning that the songs are for me to perform and express my feelings to the audience. After years of songwriting, I learned a lot. Before I start, I would think and see that I didn't copy any beat or lyric from a song I heard before. I heard about plagiarism, and it is totally wrong, especially to the famous artists that have gone through that. I always make sure that I don't do it accidentally. There’s been a few times when I would almost finish and I’d be like “Wait, I think I’m copying this song in the music because I heard it a couple of days ago” Afterwards, I would delete the idea and start anew. I can’t say that songwriting is hard nor easy, but it’s fun to do. And who knows if what you write could become a big hit. I know I tell that to myself sometimes. The important thing you need to know is to have passion and inspiration to come up with an awesome people will dance or sing to. I’ll always write songs to keep my dream alive.
